PM Khan lauds Sheikh Rasheed’s performance

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed

ISLAMABAD: Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed was among the federal ministers who earned praise from Prime Minister Imran Khan for their good performance in the past three months.

The prime minister presided over what could possibly be called the longest-ever cabinet meeting in the country’s history during which he reviewed the performance of his cabinet colleagues.

The participants of the meeting lauded the railways minister’s performance by thumping desks. PM Khan asked the minister if officers of his department were creating problems for him in an attempt to fail him.

At this, he replied in the negative, saying if he encountered any such problem he will bring it to the premier’s knowledge

Mr Khan also expressed satisfaction over the performance of Minister for Finance Asad Umar, Foreign Affairs Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, Murad Saeed and Faisal Vawda.

He directed the federal ministers to show extraordinary performance to come up to his expectations and steer the country out of the prevailing situation.

“Those who performed well are safe and will not be removed from their ministries,” prime minister maintained while rejecting rumours of reshuffling in the cabinet.

“Discussions on actions already taken in terms of service delivery, austerity measures adopted and future plans was held in each case with a view how to improve performance under each of these heads further,” said a statement issued from the PM’s office.
