ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has barred the anti-graft watchdog’s officers from using mobile phones on duty.

The move is said to be aimed at improving the bureau’s working and disciplining its officers.

Besides, the NAB chairman has directed officers up to 18 grade to wear uniform. They have also been restrained from meeting visitors having no official business during working hours.

Lately, the NAB chief had chaired a high level meeting at the Bureau’s headquarters to review its overall progress.

Speaking during the meeting, he said in clear terms that the  NAB is carrying out accountability across the country without any discrimination.

He underlined the need to root out the menace of corruption which he said is core cause of wrongdoings in the country.

He reiterated his resolve to make Pakistan a corruption free state and announced to bring the corrupts and proclaimed offenders to justice.
