KARACHI: Police submitted an inquiry report in Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) about eight alleged members of MQM London group involved in terrorism acts, ARY News reported on Saturday.
The accused included Rehman Ahmed alias Shahrukh, Syed Raza Ali, Mohsin Ali alias Shah Ji, Qazi Anees ur Rehman, Tanzeem, Zameer-ud-Din, Syed Waqas Haider and Shehryar alias Sherry.
The police claimed key progress in investigation with the accused.
According to the police report the arms recovered from the accused were matched with the ammunition used in attacks on Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) workers and the office of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
The MQM London members also confessed their involvement in terrorist attacks in Karachi. They confessed murder of PSP worker Zaheer aka Mulla and killing of MQM member Shakeel Ansari while injuring another party member Azam.
In an attack on a Milad gathering in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, organized by MQM, six people were injured.
Rizvia, New Karachi and Gulistan-e-Jauhar police stations sought physical remand of the suspects.
The court granted six days’ physical remand of the accused to police and directed it to submit progress report of the investigation in court by March 07.
Sindh Rangers had apprehended the terror suspects affiliated to MQM (London).
In a statement the Rangers said that the accused involved in targeted killings and terrorism were arrested on intelligence information.
