LAHORE: A team of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) raided on Friday detained former Punjab senior minister Abdul Aleem Khan’s office in Gulberg area, ARY News reported.
Sources said NAB officials took into custody documents related to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader’s offshore properties and important record during the raid.
The anti-graft watchdog has approved investigation against Aleem Khan for allegedly accumulating assets beyond his known sources of income.
The approval came during a meeting of NAB officials presided over by the bureau’s Lahore director general.

Earlier, on Feb 14, an accountability court had extended the physical remand of Aleem Khan for 10 days
NAB officials produced the PTI leader amid tight security in the court of AC Judge Najamul Hassan Bukhari and sought his remand for further probe into corruption charges against him.
During the course of the hearing, a NAB prosecutor said Aleem Khan became a millionaire all of a sudden as his assets now worth rupees 871 million.
Khan remained Punjab minister in 2003 to 2007 and set up 35 companies, while several of his bank accounts also surfaced.
“The suspect did not show his assets details in the Election Commission,” he continued in his arguments and requested the court to remand the suspect to its custody for another 15 days.
Meanwhile, Aleem Khan’s counsel in counter arguments in the court said, his client has submitted all of his documents to the anti-graft watchdog body.
