A deadly virus

A continuous spell of rains and heavy snowfall has resulted in the outbreak of a deadly viral infection among birds. Unfortunately, there is no hospital or institution at the district level where sick birds can be treated. Whatever little facilities that are available at Rawalpindi are inadequate. Hundreds of domesticated birds have died in a matter of days.There is a dire need to set up proper hospitals and research institutions to combat such deadly viruses which affect the birds.Lt Col (r) Arshad Nasim QureshiIslamabad
