“A film I learnt so much on. It practically changed my life,” wrote Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan about the 2010 Shahrukh Khan starrer ‘My Name Is Khan’.
The ‘Badlapur’ actor tweeted a photo of him from the set of ‘My Name Is Khan’ with the hashtag #9YearsofMNIK.

So what was Varun doing on the set of the hugely successful Karan Johar movie?
Few know that Varun started his Bollywood journey by working as an assistant director to Karan Johar on “My Name Is Khan” in the year 2010 before making his acting debut with “Student of the Year” in 2012.
#9YearsOfMyNameIsKhan …I feel so blessed to have been able to tell this story….thank you for creating it @ShibaniWrites ….and thank you @iamsrk for living the role of Rizwan so beautifully and brilliantly… thank you @KajolAtUN for your eyes…your silences and more…. pic.twitter.com/t1w7TdxF07

The massively successful movie earned its producer and the lead actors a lot of praise. The movie told the story of an Indian Muslim man Rizwan Khan (played by Shahrukh Khan) who suffers from Asperger’s syndrome but embarks on a journey to meet US president in order to tell him that all Muslims are not terrorists.
Back in the year 2017, celebrated author Paulo Coelho too praised Shahrukh’s performance and the movie by saying that Shah Rukh Khan deserved an Academy Award for his performance in the film “My Name is Khan”, if Hollywood fraternity was not biased.
“My name is Khan and I am not a terrorist” Congratulations @iamsrk for the 7th anniversary of this wonderful movie! pic.twitter.com/6IlqFtGfMl
