ISLAMABAD: Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari on Monday salaamed India for using sexual violence as weapon of war in occupied Kashmir and urged the international community to play their role for granting the Kashmiri people their UN-pledged right of self-determination.
Addressing a ceremony in the federal capital, Shireen Mazari said that Indian forces have broken all the records of brutality and atrocities in occupied Kashmir and invited the United Nations Commission on Human Rights to visit held-Kashmir.
She said that thousands of children, women and old people have lost their eye sight due to the use of pallet guns by the Indian forces in the occupied valley. Shireen Mazari maintained that Kashmiris’ freedom movement cannot be suppressed by atrocities.

It is pertinent to mention here that International Human Rights Day is being observed today (Monday) to uphold human rights and throw light on the plight of the people being denied those basic rights.
This year, Human Rights Day marks the 71th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.The day is being commemorated in Pakistan and across the globe today.
The United Nations had declared December 10 as the International Human Rights Day, the date when the world body had adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.
