
ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on late Friday announced that police took Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) Chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi into protective custody and shifted him into a state guest house, ARY News reported.
Fawad Chaudhry said that TLP chief was taken into protective custody after he refused to withdraw protest call of November 25. He clarified that the new development has nothing to do with Asia Bibi case.
The minister urged the masses to cooperate with the government officials and remain peaceful.

It is pertinent to mention here that nearly 1800 rioters had been apprehended, countrywide, by law enforcement agencies for being allegedly involved in vandalism and harassment of citizens during protests led by far right Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) on Nov 6
The Interior Ministry provided the number of arrestees who had been booked under relevant sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).
