LAHORE: The Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee on Thursday expressed gratitude to Pakistan’s civil-military leadership for fulfilling the Sikh community’s longstanding demand with regard to the Kartarpur border crossing.
Speaking at a press conference, Sardar Tara Singh, president of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, expressed great happiness over the decision to open Kartarpur Sahib Corridor and said the Sikh community’s longstanding demand has been fulfilled.
He said members of the Sikh community will not have to face anymore a hassle having to obtain visa to travel from India to Pakistan to visit Gurduwara Janam Istan in Nanaka Sahib.

Earlier today, Information Minister Chaudhry in his tweet said: “Indian Cabinet endorsement of Pakistan’s proposition on #KartarPurBorderOpening is victory of peace lobby in both countries, it’s a step towards right direction and we hope such steps ll encourage voice of reasons and tranquility on both sides of the border.”
According to the Press Trust of India, the decision was taken at a meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.
