Pakistan sacrificed most in war on terror, says Shehryar

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi on Tuesday said that Pakistan has sacrificed a lot in war on terror and these sacrifices will go in vain,  ARY News reported.

Talking to journalists in Islamabad, the minister said “Pakistan has sacrificed a lot in fighting the “biggest” war”  for the survival of the humanity on its soil, and the country has suffered huge losses in the war,

Reacting to the recent diatribe by the US President Donald Trump, Mr. Afridi responded, “Pakistan does not need a certificate from anyone for its recognition in the war against terror, the sacrifices rendered by us [Pakistan] has history, which cannot be turned down.”

The minister was in view that “we do not need to pay any attention to what the world is saying and the focus should only be on our own interests.”

On the other hand, the Pentagon following Trump’s outburst earlier today, elucidated that no change has taken place in the Pak-US military relations.

Responding to a question related to the series of tweets from Trump and his interview to an American Tv, in which he alleged Pakistan for doing nothing for the US, Colonel Rob Manning, Director of Defense Press Operations, said, “They [Pakistan] remain a critical partner in our South Asia strategy and there’s been no change to our military-to-military relationship with Pakistan.”

Speaking to media men during an off-camera news conference, the minister stressed that “The US and Pakistan have a strong mutual interests in the region”

” As you know, they are critical (and) vital to the South Asia strategy and including the facilitation of a peace process that would lead to a stable and peaceful Afghanistan,” said Shehryar.
