No selective justice system in country, asserts CJP

Chief Justice

LONDON: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has said his first duty is to bring about judicial reforms in the country.

Speaking to media in the British capital, the chief justice dispelled the impression that there is a selective justice system in Pakistan, saying that there is only one justice system.

He clarified that there is no high-profile or low-profile cases for judges as a case is a case. There was talk of pressure on the judiciary in the past, but no one can image of it now, he added.

CJP Nisar is in London to raise funds for the Supreme Court-created Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund.

Separately, talking to Pakistani origin members of British parliament in London, the chief justice said construction of dams is very inevitable for Pakistan.

He said there is huge amount required to construct Diamer Bhasha Dam and overseas Pakistanis want to contribute donations in the dam fund.

He said that unresolved water crises will force the people to migrate from the country.  He said that any society will not be sustained without justice.

The CJP also visited the British Parliament and witnessed the question answer session of the house.
