ISLAMABAD: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has set up a joint monitoring cell at all airports in the country to fight the menace of money laundering.
As per details, the cells have been established at the Jinnah International Airport, Allama Iqbal International Airport, New Islamabad International Airport, Bacha Khan International Airport and Quetta International Airport.
The joint monitoring cells will work to curb movement of money through illegal channels.
The Airport Security Force (ASF), Anti-Narcotic Force (ANF) and Pakistan customs officials will jointly screen passengers’ luggage to restrict movement of currency, narcotics and other contraband items.
The PTI government has upped efforts to curb reported laundering of billions of rupees out of the country every year.
