Indian troops martyr four more youth in held Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Indian troops in a fresh act of barbarism in the occupied Kashmir on Tuesday martyred four more youth in Shopian district of the held territory, the Kashmir Media Service reported.

As per details, the youth were killed by Indian occupation forces during so-called cordon and search operation at Nadigam area of Shopian district.

The internet and mobile services have also been suspended in the area by the Indian authorities.

On the other hand, a complete shutdown is being observed in all poll-bound areas of the occupied Kashmir with regard to the second phase of so-called “panchayat” elections.

Strike is being observed on the call of the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. Schools, colleges and the markets are completely closed in the valley.

The Indian troops on November 18 had also martyred two youth in Shopian. Two young men were killed during a cordon and search operation launched by Indian forces at Reban in Zainpora area of the district.

The martyred youth were identified as Nawaz Ahmad and Yawar Wani, the Kashmir Media Service wrote.

In October, Pakistan’s ambassador to the UN, Maleeha Lodhi, reiterated the call in the United Nations (UN) to establish a Commission of inquiry to investigate grave human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The report issued on Kashmir by the UN High Commissioner of Human Rights in June 2018 had made a recommendation for such an inquiry.

“We endorse the report’s recommendation that a UN Inquiry Commission be constituted to investigate and redress the violations of human rights of the Kashmiri people”, the Pakistani envoy had said.

Ambassador Lodhi said at the UN forum that the aspirations of the Kashmiri people to exercise their right of self-determination would have been fulfilled decades ago, had India not brutally suppressed their legitimate struggle.
