KARACHI: Assailants have broken into the consulate of China in Karachi on Friday morning, ARY News reported.
According to initial reports, security guards of the consulate were attacked in a shootout from the assailants. Few blasts were also heard in the area while the exchange of fire is ongoing.
The assailants are said to be near the Consulate premises and launching attacks.
A heavy contingent of police and security forces have been immediately called on the site.
According to eyewitnesses an explosion was also heard during the incident and smoke seen at the Consulate premises.
