LAHORE: Newly appointed Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court (LHC) Muhammad Anwaarul Haq will take oath of his office at a ceremony in the provincial capital today.
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar will administer the oath to the new chief justice of the high court at Governor’s house.
Judges, members of the city’s legal fraternity and government officials will attend the oath-taking ceremony.
Justice Haq will be the 47th chief justice of the LHC and will replace outgoing Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali.
A day earlier, President Dr Arif Alvi gave the go-ahead to Justice Haq’s appointment as LHC chief justice. Besides, seven others were appointed as additional judges.
