ISLAMABAD: At least five people were burnt to death while two others sustained burn wounds when three vehicles and a police check post caught fire after a collision between a passenger van and truck on Tuesday morning.
As per details, the accident occurred near Balochistan’s Machh area. Initially, the van and truck collided, causing fire in both the vehicles and a nearby car as well as police check post.
Consequently, five people were burnt to death while two others sustained wounds.
After being informed of the accident, rescue teams reached the site and shifted the deceased and injured to a nearby medical facility.
The identities of the deceased and injured couldn’t be ascertained immediately.
At least 19 people were killed and 45 others sustained injuries as two passenger buses collided on Multan road near Ghazi Ghaat in Dera Ghazi (DG) Khan on Sunday night.
President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed condolence with the bereaved families. They directed the authorities concerned to leave no stone unturned in providing medical treatment to the injured.
