Farooq Sattar asks PTI govt to do ‘homework’ before making ‘big claims’

Farooq Sattar MQM-P

KARACHI: “It is a request to the government that before claiming big do your homework first, otherwise it will all fall flat on your faces,” advised Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Farooq Sattar on Wednesday.

Sattar gave these remarks while speaking to media outside the city court hearing the case of Loudspeaker Violation Act against the former convener of MQM.

Lashing out at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government, Sattar said, two major political parties of the country had already failed the masses, “now the third one is also pushing them in a swamp of despondency.”

One should carefully calculate, before making any big claims, he added.

Referring to recent surge in inflation, MQM leader stated that a wave of protest can be foreseen in the country against government’s decision of price hike on utilities.

On the other hand, the city court adjourned the case hearing against Farooq Sattar until November 5, as the new investigation officer of the case sought 10 days for his preparation.

The city court, on October 3, indicted Sattar and others in one of the cases, related to Loudspeaker Act violation, on the charges, which he has denied.

The case was registered at the New Town police station after a party workers’ gathering in PIB Colony on June 27, 1987 under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code, Sections 2/3 of the Loudspeaker Act read with Section 13-D of the Arms Ordinance.

Sattar had in June 2018 got interim bail from a district court in the case.
